It's apple season, which means it's time to make all sorts of apple goodness. The best one to start with is the classic apple pie.
Here's my go-to, tried and true apple pie recipe. It's best with a homemade crust, but also tastes amazing with store-bought crust.
Classic Apple Pie

- 1 double crust
- 2 Granny Smith apples
- 2 apples your choice
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water
Ingredients

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Wash, cut, and core apples.

Gently place bottom crust in pan.

Fill pan with apples.

Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

Add in flour and combine.

Add in both sugars, cinnamon, and water and bring to a boil. Let simmer for a few minutes.

Pour 3/4 of syrup over apples.

Add top crust. You can create a lattice or place the top crust over and cut air holes.

Pour remaining syrup over the crust. This will serve as a glaze.
