With only five ingredients and a blender, you'll wow all your friends with this homemade non-dairy milk (as well as your sophisticated palette). Oat milk is all the rage right now, with brands like Oatly dominating Target and health food stores. I'm a huge fan of oat milk, but it's a bit on the expensive side. I decided to take the opportunity to try and whip up my own — with a twist in honor of my favorite season, Spring.

- Easy

- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ingredients
-
Step 1
Gather your ingredients.
-
Step 2
Soak 1 cup of rolled oats before blending in just enough water to cover the oats. This is an optional step, but helps your blender out if you don't have a high-speed model.
-
Step 3
Add oats, water, salt, pitted dates, 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil, and vanilla to a blender. Blend on high until there are no chunks of date left (about 1 minute).
-
Step 4
Pour your fresh oat milk into a large mason jar and enjoy! You can also choose to strain the milk through a fine mesh bag if you want less oat pulp in your milk.
Put your homemade lavender oat milk to use in a smoothie, cereal, oatmeal, homemade latte or just drink it straight. Enjoy!
